The Refuge is the college ministry of The Chapel On The Campus at LSU. For six years, we have existed to reach the campus of LSU with the most important message this world has ever known: the grace and love of Jesus Christ.
Our chief goal is to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ. We achieve this goal through relational ministry with a focus on building community here on the campus of LSU. And by doing so, we are able to send out groups abroad to bring that same message of grace to the world. We like to call it “reaching the world through LSU.”
We have a weekly College service called the Refuge 7:37 Experience. Taking its name from John 7:37, the service begins at 7:37 pm on Sunday nights. We meet at 3355 Dalrymple Dr. on the Louisiana State University Campus.
The Refuge also offers Community Groups, which are groups students that meet in apartments, Greek houses, dorms, and homes in the area around LSU. The purpose of these groups is not only bible study, but to forge friendships and cultivate an authentic, honest place, where students can gather just to talk about life.
The Refuge has taken its name from the biblical notion of God as our Refuge. Psalm 16:1 says, “Keep me safe, O God for in You I take my refuge.” The Refuge desires to be a safe place where you can come as you are and experience the love of Christ. So come join us and share in the blessing of community!
Since 2007, The Refuge has been blessed to be partnered with Campus Crusade For Christ, combining our efforts to reach the LSU Campus.
