Community So now you have made it in the door. what's next? Well, how about meeting some new people? We know how uncomfortable it can be to be the "new guy/girl" in the group and that is why we have adopted a laid-back, come-as-you-are policy. At the Refuge, we believe that an awesome and loving God uniquely designed everyone and that we need to share that same love with everyone, including you. Our authentic community includes all sorts of people. Whether you're an artist, athlete, intellectual, or an international, you are sure to find someone that you can relate to at The Refuge. But The Refuge is more than a social club. We want to see relationships forming that will last a lifetime and dig beneath the surface that we so often hide behind. Drop your guard and let some people get to know the real you. We have a number of activities and programs that will help ease you into the process of developing some of these meaningful relationships. Our community groups provide a more intimate environment to connect with other peers as we study biblical principles. We need each other in this crazy adventure called life and the Refuge is a great place to connect with other believers. "No man is an Island" - John Donne
Are you ready to get involved with the Refuge? If you are interested in getting to know people on a more real level and experience God in a new way, you should join a community group! A community group is a committed, Bible study consisting of 8 to 10 people. We have both guy-girl groups and co-ed groups. Your community group will meet one night a week for the entire school year. This group will develop your Christian walk in three areas: Learning, Living and Sharing the Word of God. Learning: In a community group you will obtain a deeper understanding of your Christian faith, learn how to effectively study your Bible and develop skills that will allow you to grow in Christ your whole life. Living: Your community group will provide friendly support and guidance as you learn to live a life that reflects your beliefs. You will experience fellowship through accountability, encouragement, and service. Sharing: As God works in our lives, it is our delight to share Him with others. In your community group, you will be trained to effectively share your faith with those in your everyday life. Why Join A Community Group? (click here to find out...)
