Get to Work Now that you are spiritually buff, you are ready to get out there and take on the world for Christ. You aren't just a spectator anymore. It's time to put your new skills to work. We are committed to preaching the Gospel to the lost, making disciples, and equipping them for action. We don't want to be spiritually stagnant. We believe God is glorified when we are spreading the good news of salvation to the campus of L.S.U. and throughout the world. We believe that service honors God and inspires people. People don't want to just hear about the love of Christ, they want to see it in action. Mission trips, student outreach programs, and local ministries are all ways in which you can serve. There is never a shortage of need only a shortage of help. So get pumped about the opportunity to make a difference in this world. People need you to be a Refuge.
Refuge Mission Trips for 2008 and Beyond
...is to glorify God by reaching the world through LSU as we make disciples in the image of Christ.
...is to multiply reproducing laborers as we draw them in to equip à sending forth to impact . A laborer is someone involved in the three stages of discipleship: Establishing, Equipping, and Evangelizing. These stages of discipleship depict our relationship with GOD (Upward = abiding = establishing), our relationship with believers (Inward = discipling = equipping), and our relationship with the lost world (Outward = impacting = evangelizing).
China- Working on a college campus to meet students, do English corners, and build relationships as the gospel is shared. Trip cost is approximately $3,000 and length is 4-7 weeks..
Italy- May 17-June 28. Cost approx 5,000. Meeting students and sharing about personal growth in relationship with the Lord. Ministry is highly relational.
Moscow, Russia- May 18-July 6. Cost approx 4,800. Working with universities with an established ministry presence and pioneering new campuses. Influencing students who will impact many others around the world. Branson, Missouri- May 27-August 4. Cost approx 2,650. You will be working about 30 hours per week (to earn money) and form friendships, have growth, fun, discipleship and evangelism. Prague, Czech Republic- May 17-June 28. Cost approx 5,000. Minister to students through relational ministry and outreaches while partnering with Campus Crusade long term missionaries. Kazakhstan- 4-7 weeks, cost approx 3,000. Working with a Chapel missionary to meet college students on campuses, building relationships and sharing the gospel. Email refuge@lsu.edu for more information.
